    You can use Trackers (http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Trackers) for this project (and PluginTrackerFilter). They fit right in your purpose. 😉. There some examples of trackers used for production linked from this other page: Trackers

    About performance if several hundred records, it will depend on your server settings (see Database performance, if needed).
