Thanks for the responses! I am trying to use the tracker for an approval system - this means that I have to set a default value when a new approval is requested. I also need to restrict the permission to "approve" and also display a timestamp and login for the person doing the approval.
What I am seeing now is that the username is not appearing (because the field does not appear at all with restricted permissions) - the approval status is not being set to the default value either - because it is read-only for the submitter.
I hope that makes sense - the tracker is very good - but it does not provide a good audit log for the fields or status changes (please correct me if I am wrong)
