html now working / site turns white after wiki changes

Hi,

I just installed a new tiki v 2.3, not an upgrade. In the admin homepage wiki features I clicked allow html. I remember from a past version I had to also click the allow html box in the actual wiki. I don't see that box anywhere and when I save it the html doesn't work. It just shows the actual code, but not how it's supposed to look.

Also, when I save a wiki, the whole site turns blank white. When I enter the root domain again in the browser, the wiki will come up again with the new changes. I have to do this everytime I make a change. I'm not sure what's causing these problems. Any ideas?

thanks,
Perry

Another weird thing is that a person can edit the html pages fine. It's only the wiki feature that is not working right. I double checked the wiki features and html as been allowed. There's just no checkbox for html in the wiki pages. The site also turns completely white after you save a wiki edit. Is there a file I should overwrite on my server? Maybe that would fix the problem.

I made a test account.

Could someone login and try it out?

One problem is that the apache url rewriting doesn't seem to be working right. I get a blank page at http://thewebsyte.com/wiki/HomePageQuestion, but the full url http://thewebsyte.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=HomePageQuestion works. Did you rename the file _htaccess to .htaccess in your Tiki root directory? That's necessary for the short urls to work.

If you get blank pages in general, that's often a sign of not enough PHP script execution memory. This is one thing to check on (see http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Requirements+and+SetupQuestion, the "Note on PHP Memory Limits" section).

Do you specifically want to use the WYSIWYG editor? This is still an experimental feature and doesn't work yet without problems, as far as I know.

I noticed under the normal editor the html worked. I deselected the wysiwyg editor.

I missed the step of changing the _htaccess to .htaccess. I did that and now I'm not getting a white page! THANKS!

After I ran the .../tiki-phpinfo.php. I noticed my execution time was 30 not 300 like recommended. I forgot how to change that, but I'll contact my server host tomorrow and get that setup properly too.

thanks again chibaguy 😀
