Module proposal for IM Scheduler

I am pretty new to TikiWiki, but have been programming for over 20 years and have some familiarity with PHP. I am planning on adding a module to TikiWiki that will work something like this. Users can schedule their own times for meetings so that other people can join them for a meeting at the appointed time. For example, I am Joe User. I log on and decide I want to schedule a meeting for tomorrow at 7 PM to discuss XYZ, where XYZ relates to a topic of interest to those using the website. So between now and 7 PM tomorrow, any user can log on and click some acknowledgement that they will be there at 7 PM to discuss XYZ. Then at 7 PM those in the meeting will be able to use either TikiWiki chat or their own Instant Messenger software to communicate and have a meeting/discussion. I want to put some sort of tracker so that the website can keep statistics of how reliably people show up - that is, if they log on and join the meeting when they said that they would. I want to do this especially for the person first setting up the meeting, so that people will know if they are reliable or not. It would seem good to integrate it with the Calendar module. Other than that, I am not sure how or where I will be putting the module, but will be reading up on it and starting development on it in the next few days. Any feedback about what you think, if you know of something similar somewhere or tips on where to put this in TikiWIki are much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
your proposal looks quite "specialized" to me. Please send this to the developers' mailing list, so you get both help and feedback.

I like the idea.

Add the ability to easily "publish" or post a log of the meeting so users who missed it can easily find the transcript. Export/send the meeting log into a FORUM to continue on discussions after the meeting.

Agenda area (just link to an auto-generated wiki page or whatever) for users to input or collaborate on the agenda items in preparation of the meeting.

From the calendar item, links to the locations of the agenda wiki, and the meeting log would be good.
