Images disappear on homepage when try to edit

I used a table to organize my content on my home page, and put four images (images of text) in the first field. Now whenever I try to edit the page, even if it is just adding a description in the page description field, the images disappear. I can edit the images individually, but if I try to edit the page, which is what I need to do in order to be able to edit the table, the images keep disappearing.

Do you have any ideas on what I can do?

I am using tiki 5.x and the home page is www.promotethegood.orgQuestion. The first two text images used to appear on the same row, but since I turned on seeing the page contributor and the categories they are on separate rows, which I don't want. (This is IE. In firefox, they still appear the way I want them to.)

I haven't seen a problem like this reported before. Are you using the standard wiki editor, or the WYSIWYG editor? (Maybe it makes a difference here, I don't know.)

About the images' positions changing in IE vs. Firefox, images (the img tag) in HTML are block-level elements. That means their default behavior is to start on a new line. To have images display side by side like words in text, they need to be given a property such as float or display:inline, or some other styling. I don't see any explicit property for the 'Projects & Events' image that would cause it to be in the position you want it in. Sometimes for complex layouts (though this one isn't particularly complex) I do a mockup with the images, etc., in a plain HTML file, just to be sure the layout itself is sound, before stirring it into the Tiki brew.

The images seem to be displaying now. Do you mean if you edit the page and save it, the images will no longer display?

Yes, if I saved the edit, the images no longer displayed. Also, when I previewed, they did not show in the preview. I was using the html editor, but the regular wiki editor didn't fare any better.

I did figure out how to be able to edit though. I had been using firefox. When I switched to internet explorer, the code was back the way it should have been and the images remained even when I saved my edits. So it looks like it was a compatibility issue.

Most of the developers use Firefox and/or webkit-engine browsers (Safari, Chrome, etc.) so a problem as obvious as images in wiki content disappearing after edits would have been noticed if it happened in Tiki sites used to test the code (including the several *.tikiwiki.org sites), so it seems to me there is some unusual factor accounting for the behavior at your site.
