Tabs default

In tiki 5.x is there a way to set the default to the "no tabs" view so that when a user creates a page he doesn't have to click on the tabs?

There's a "No tabs" checkbox on Look and Feel Admin's Miscellaneous tab (tiki-admin.php?page=look#content6); it's the global on|off switch for tabs. Why is clicking on the tabs a problem, by the way?

For general users who are creating wiki pages that are meant to be locked, it seems like it would be eaiser to simply say, "Check the 'Lock this page'" box, than to say, "Under the Tools tab Check the 'Lock this page' box". It seems like it would be easier for the user as well.

Perhaps I am wrong.

Or is there a way to configure Tiki so that some wiki pages when they are created are automatically locked?

It's funny that tabs reduce visual clutter but the down side is that things aren't immediately visible; oh well.

There's a wiki admin option something like "Make author the admin of the page" which prevents other users from editing the person's pages, if that would work.
