Warning message during installation

Hello everyone!

This is my 1st time installing anything PHP in a hosting site. After following the instructions for installing using FTP, this is messages I've got:

"Warning: fopen(db/local.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/motionpo/public_html/sft2/tiki-install.php on line 300

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/motionpo/public_html/sft2/tiki-install.php on line 301

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/motionpo/public_html/sft2/tiki-install.php on line 302"

In tiki-install.php, it says "Tiki cannot find a database connection
Please enter your database connection info". So I entered it manualy, example:

Host: localhost
User: XXXX
Password: XXXX
Database name: tiki

I've installed tiki in another directory like "www.xxxxxx.com/tiki"

Its been days trying to solve it but still no solution. Need your help.

Thanks

Victor

I'm not much experienced about that, actually I never used hosting yet.
There is a permission issue about local.php, I guess this means apache can't read it. Does it exist? If not it may mean that fopen tries to create it and fails not having write permission to tiki/db/. Permissions should be handled by setup.sh, make sure you did this step right.

For the db connection, your DB user must have permission over the tiki DB...that's the only problem I can think of. If this doesn't help you make sure you came on #tikiwiki, it should be easier to try to solve that interactively.

Hi Victor,

The problem here seems to be that tiki cannot write the local.php file, you can either make the db/ folder writable to apache, or have a look in tiki-db.php and create the local.php file yourself.

Once the local.php has been created you can always remove those permissions.

If your still stuck Message Me or post back

Thanks everyone.

I've changed 'local.php' to writable but it still say 'Tiki cannot find a database connection Please enter your database connection info' so I've to enter it manually.

It also displayed this new warning:

'Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class dbgcmd_watch in /xxxxxxx/lib/debug/debug-command_watch.php on line 15'

Hi Victor,

Some questions which may give us a clue as to the nature of the problem;

What version of Tiki are you using?
How much PHP memory has your hosting provider set? This can be checked using phpinfo()
What kind of access to you have to the hosting area, were you able to run the setup.sh or have to CHMOD through FTP?

Im sure we can get you up and running!
