Has/is anybody developing a tableless TikiWiki?

I am new to T/W and firstly I would like to say what a great product it is. So usefu and well builtl. The problem I have however is that I need T/W to be more skinable and tables don't help that much.

Is there a tableless version out there? Will verison 1.9 or 2.0 be tableless?

LOL 😂

TikiWiki has some tableless themes already, but they are crap.

Click my name below and see what can be done with TikiWikis current system. Read http://smarty.php.netQuestion, you can do anything in the current style system!

I've tried doing something like that and I can tell you it's a lost battle, considering how each and every one of the major browsers has it's own way of interpreting CSS recomendations and layer positioning , not to mention that CSS can't offer some of the features of tables. I've tried to recreate the header, footer and 3 columns using layers and the only solution that I found working included a nasty hack (allowing it to work on all browsers).
