Two-week Canadian Spring TikiFest

The Tiki Community is planning a two-week, two-city TikiFest (code sprint) in Canada this spring. All members of the Tiki Community, as well as anyone interested in wikis and content management systems (CMS) are invited to join us!

The Tiki Community is happy to announce the release of Tiki 10.1, 9.4 LTS and 6.10 LTS. The most-advanced stable release, 10.1, received:
  • Fix to a security issue during new user validation
  • Several fixes in trackers
  • Fixes to Lucene search index usage
  • Many usability improvements
  • Improved translations

Tiki 9.4LTS and 6.10LTS Releases
The Tiki Community also released updates to the two Long Term Support (LTS) versions: Tiki 9.4LTS (31 bug fixes and enhancements) and Tiki 6.10LTS (8 bug fixes). See http://info.tiki.org/Version+lifecycle for details.

The Tiki Community is proud to announce the release of Tiki 10.0, the latest version of Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware. This release, with more than 600 code contributions by nearly a dozen Tiki Community members, includes many new features, some architectural enhancements, and many bug fixes.


Major new features and enhancements include:

  • Screencast, with screenshot, audio and video capture
  • Security fixes, including issues with serialize/unserialize_calls, first disclosed by Egidio Romano (aka EgiX).
  • European Cookie compliance
  • Improved support for Kaltura and BigBlueButton integration
  • Several new plugins and modules including Facebook and Twitter integration
  • New administration features for Tiki Workspaces

As part of our continual "dogfooding" process, the *.tiki.org sites were upgraded to Tiki 10 several weeks before the release, allowing the Tiki Community to obtain "real world" feedback for the upgrade.


Tiki 6.9LTS and 9.3LTS Releases
The Tiki Community also released updates to the two Long Term Support (LTS) versions: Tiki 6.9LTS and Tiki 9.3LTS. These updates include several security patches and fixes. The Tiki Community will continue to support Tiki 6LTS and Tiki 9LTS as Long Term Support version. See http://info.tiki.org/Version+lifecycle for details.

BitNami Announces the Inclusion of Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware

As with other BitNami-packaged applications, Tiki will available in a complete, ready-to-run package that you can download as a free native installer, virtual appliance and cloud template for the Amazon cloud. In addition to being downloaded from SouceForge more than 1 million times, Tiki is also available as a one-click install from many popular control panel applications such as Fantastico, script managers such as SimpleScripts, remote installers such as Installatron, and virtual appliances such as JumpBox. In 2010, Tiki was added to the Windows Web App Gallery, giving millions of Windows users easier access to Tiki.


And now, Tiki is in the running to be included an in an upcoming BitNami installer. BitNami provides free, ready to run environments for favorite open source web applications — and Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware could be next!

The Tiki 10.0 Beta is Available for Testing

The first public beta of Tiki 10.0 is now available. The Tiki development team encourages all early-adopters to download and test this version. System administrators should remember that this is a beta, pre-release version and use caution when upgrading or integrating with a live site.

Beta users can report issues or comments to the Tiki development team via the Developer Mailing List (http://tiki.org/Mailing+Lists) or submit a bug on the Tiki Development site (http://dev.tiki.org/Report+a+Bug).

The final release of Tiki 10.0 is planned later this year.

The Tiki Software Community Association is proud to announce the immediate availability of the latest releases of the Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware Long Term Support (LTS) versions: Tiki 6.8 LTS and 9.2 LTS.


The 9.2 update includes more than 500 code changes, focusing on fixes and improvements such as:

  • Introduction of the Tiki Server Check, allowing users to test their server environment.
  • Automatic generation of site maps
  • Customized formatting for menu labels through wiki syntax and plugins
  • Improvements to the user registration process
  • Security fixes
