In addition, sometimes a video camera is available and some better videos are recorded to allow (re)viewing calmly what was presented, discussed or decided on those fest... Have you already see the videos from the past tw:TikiFestMadrid ? 😊

Participate
Feel free to participate as much as possible even if you cannot attend in person.

There are many ways to participate from where you are even if you are not a coder, since very frequently testing is needed, and documentation needs to be updated with the things many people like you learn during the tikifest or know beforehand which are related to the things in the TikiFest agenda.

So, why not providing you two cents back to the community with this distant participation, while meeting the coders behind TikiWiki CMS/Groupware in action?

I will be giving a lightning talk at FOSDEM in Brussels

Nelson Ko & Marc Laporte presented TikiWiki at the Free Software and Open Source Symposium 2008 (FSOSS) in Toronto.

A reporter from ComputerWorld Canada was present.

A few excerpts:

TikiWiki just hit 700 000 downloads!

This is just one of many quite impressive metrics.

• Over 1 million lines of code.
• 220+ developers directly committing to the core, with countless other people helping with support, documentation, testing, etc.
• 1000+ pages of documentation.
• A new code commit every 2 hours (average of last 5 years)
• 15 000+ registered users on tikiwiki.org

Congratulations to Marc Laporte who has been named to PacketPub's list of Most Valued People from Open Source Content Management Systems.

Some community comments about Marc include...

He has been the person re-activating the full community world-wide, traveling many places around the globe to organize TikiFests, investing money to improve the overall performance and look and feel of the application through hiring countless coders.

Unflinching dedication.

Marc is a driving force within the TikiWiki community and continually works to move the project ahead. He can routinely be seen on the forums, in the IRC channel, or face-to-face at a TikiFest.

Congratulations again to Marc, and thank you for your continuing contributions to TikiWiki!
