Even though 1.8 should be used for production enviroment, how bad would it be to use 1.9?

Depends if you can fix bugs in real time when things like the wiki parsing stops working, (its a current known issue). Forum threading is sometimes broken, and Image Galleries have some outstanding issues with disappearance of images :-(

Thats in 1.9 smile

So if in any doubt use 1.8.5 and make sure you follow the security articles to finalise the install

Is the database structure the same from 1.8 to 1.9? Problem is I started using 1.9 and populated the database, could I just mysqldump it and use it for 1.8?confused

You should reverse the 1.8to1.9.sql file in db/

Dear Damian,

Thanks for you reply, but I'm still a little confused on what to do. Based on your recomendation I should really use Polaris, which means installing the files and run the db script. But what would you say is a better aproach to move the data from 1.9 to 1.8.

TIA, Draven
