Will the backup function be working somtime in the near future or has there been an update that has corrected the backup issue?

Backup feature is far tooo broken.

The best way of a backup is to cron a mysqldump or use the Windows scheduled tasks and a mysqldump from a .bat file. Or move to a tiki host which does it for you nightly 😊
