javascript:toggle - error on page

I downloaded the 1.8.5 stable release and installed on a Linux 2.4.21- server, MySQL 4.0.22-standard, php 4.3.11.

No errors during the install however the admin menus would not expand (ie clicking on the + beside Admin (Click!) did nothing - IE reported "error on page", FireFox just sat there and did nothing. There seemed to be nothing here in the forum on this so I deleted everything and went for another install - same error.

Got a friend to creat an account and try the menu system on their machine - same error.

Every javascript:toggle('#menuname-here#') results in the same problem.

I made sure that nothing in either IE or FireFox was blocking javascript operations and experienced no joy.

Any ideas - while the install isn't difficult, and they do say 3rd time is the charm - I'm not really interested in going down that road as I believe that at this point is it pointless.

It seems that my host uses mod_security to block both lib and etc "to stop directory traversing attacks etc via http"

Is there a way to make things work using a different path name?

Thanks

M

You can move that tiki-js.js file into a different folder say for example a new one called /js

Then modify the templates/header.tpl and change the tiki-js.js to js/ from lib/

Should get you up and running without further problems.
