I installed tiki in my PC as localhost using EasyPHP 2.0.0.0! Is it possible to use my tiki from another computer?

You will be able to access your tiki from another PC on the network. I've done the same thing here at work.

You'll need to configure your Apache server, and ensure that your PC's firewall isn't blocking Apache as a web server. From another PC you should be able to view tiki by using the URL:

http:\\computer-name\tiki

...assuming you've setup Apache with a tiki alias

Thank you for your kind reply.

Actually I am not familiar with net that much!
I put Tiki at www directory of where EasyPHP is installed. and made an alias (tiki) to the directory F:\EasyPHP 2.0b1\www\tiki. I put an additional line as "Allow xxx.xxx.xx.xxx" to allow another IP to access this alias. Then I went to myfirewall settings and set the Apache as an exception. But this does not work! when I type "http://MyIP/tiki" at the PC which I allowed its IP, the explorer says it cannot find the page! (PCs have static IPs).

Shall I share something!? or change any settings? or put the ip of other computer somewhere?

Hi Pinki,

Unfortunately, I'm not too clever when it comes to configuring Apache. For me it all went very smoothly. I didn't even have to add an Allow xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx line. I'm sure there must be loads of people here that know what to do to get you up and running.

If it's any help I'd approach this problem by first making sure my Apache installation worked, then getting tiki wiki to work.

Not much help, I know, but it's something...😐

Nobody knows?

Please help me if you know what is wrong!
If it is,at all, possible (without using an ftp) to share tiki in this way...
or any hint...

Try completely disabling the firewall on the computer where Tiki is installed and test it that way.

Also try...

http://tiki's.IP.address/

... instead of...

http://tiki's.IP.address/tiki

Do the results differ?

If it still doesn't work with the Firewall completely disabled you may have an actual problem with your computer that's preventing it.

If you are part of a Windows network, talk to your Admin - they could also have you blocked in other ways.

If you have a hardware firewall or router you will need to configure port forwarding for the port you using on apache normally port 80 or 443 for SSL.

I'm assuming your running the server. If you type http://localhost/Question or http://localhost/tiki/Question on the server computer and get tikiwiki to work then its just an apache network configuration error. You may have apache bound to only the localhost loopback address or to the wrong ethernet card (if you have more then one ethernet card or wireless).

Have you got it to work on the server using the localhost address?
