Only creator can edit a Wiki page?

Hi,

We are running the 5.3. version, and are under a set-up where registered users can create and edit Wiki pages. Now the way we'd like to set the Wiki up, is to allow only the user that created a page to edit it.

I.E.: Bob, Billy and Billy-Bob are all registered users. They can all create pages. But once let's say Bob creates a page, only Bob can edit it.

How would we go about in making this possible?

Yours,
Markus

Hi,

I just explain the principle to give you the direction - you will have to dig deeper a bit by yourself.

You need to set up categories.

Setup groups in a way, that eachregistered user gets his own group at registration automatically.

example: user "bob" registers and group "Bob" will be crated on registration.

Setup that users can change categories.

Setup that users have edit permission in their category (I also would have to check where exactly to set up this detail).

Now users can create a page and make it "personal", respectively "unpublic" by applying the page to their category.

As said, that is just the route to go in principle.

I would also like to know the answer to this (old and unanswered) post

Hello hrsms;

There are two ways I know of:

One is listed here http://doc.tiki.org/GroupsQuestion
And the other (if you have ongoing users that require those perms) using a data channel. I'd give the first a try.

Take care,
Robert

Torsten and Robert,

Thank you for your replies. I actually started working on the category approach shortly after I posted my question. I think I can make it work.

Regards,

Greg

You can activate "Page creators are admin of their pages" on the wiki admin page. This is, I think, the easiest way to solve that problem.
