Limited Banner Permissions

Am I right in thinkjing that there's basically only one level of Banner permissions/ You can either have complete access to Banner admin or none at all?

Assuming that's correct, I find this quite frustrating. It would be very useful to separate out constructive stuff (like creating a banner) to destructive actions like deleting a Zone.

In a real world scenario, I want to give groups the ability to create and display banners without the risk of them accidentally deleting a zone.

Anyone else know of a worksaround?

Hi,

If the banner content is a wiki page, then the page could have editing permissions and could be changed by users who don't access the banner admin itself.

If the banner content can be wiki text (I don't recall offhand if this is supported), then the Menupage module could be used, where you specify the wiki page to provide the data. If wiki text isn't supported as banner content, then you could use the url "tiki-index_p.php?page=" with the page name.

Would this work?

Thanks., Gary. The banner content is normally an image (which has to be uploaded at the time of creating the banner i.e. can't reference a file in file galleries) - so I think the work arounds involving wiki pages wouldn't be relevant?
