Try Tikiwiki with maps feature in a virtual machine

Franck Martin -

You would like to try tikiwiki but do not want to spend time installing it? If your PC meet the requirements I have put together a virtual machine running a freshly installed tikiwiki with the maps feature. It works as a server in a corner of your own machine. You can access this server using your preferred web browser in your preferred operating system.

New talks related to TikiWiki usage in educational scenarios

Xavier de Pedro -
This is to inform you abut the three oral communications related to TikiWiki usage in educational scenarios, that are going to be held in the following months. Below you may find the abstracts of the three communications (first one written in Spanish, the other two in English; however, all three will be probably presented in Catalan, since they'll be held in Barcelona...).

We have been using (while being developed by sylvie's & other devs.' nice work) some new features in TikiWiki 1.10, highly suitable for educational scenarios (Contributions & Action logs, mainly, with some improvements to Tikisheets in our specific case of experimental sciences). These features would be quite ready for production use, if we wouldn't have to wait until 1.10 is released as "THE" stable version... (who knows when..., but each time closer as 1.9.x matures, times passes, and 1.10 seems to be pretty stable already 😉)

Tiki themes site opens

Gary Cunningham-Lee -

A dedicated Tiki themes web site has opened at themes.tikiwiki.org. The purpose of the new site is to promote the creating and sharing of new themes for Tiki. Tiki is well-known as full-featured portal/CMS/groupware, but Tiki's page design flexibility hasn't really been fully demonstrated. The idea of the new site is to promote this capability. As with other aspects of Tiki, both those who can offer help and those who need help are encouraged to participate.
