I'm trying to install 1.8 but tikiwiki-1.8.zip doesn't have /lib/adobdb or /lib/smarty directories. Is this a bug or a feature? :-) Missing-file errors on install.

in that case you need a new php with one of those compiled in. Otherwise you cant use any graphics functions in any PHP code.

Damian: Couldn't locate any info on GD or ImageMagic in phpinfo(). Where else can this info be found?

getting error "'name' parameter for tikimodule missed" in one of my modules when i am anon, but it goes away after loggin in. anyone seen that before?

tried to use the last_comments module in 1.7.4, assigned to Admins => Smarty error and can't log in as admin. Do I need to kick the module out of the DB manually ? thx in advance

On the language issue: If IE... Check languages configuration (Tools / General tab / Languages... button) to make sure only Englis is on the list
